The Name Game

Everyone wants to know the Babies name...see if you can figure it out. If you are one of those people who Andrea could not help but tell...don't blurt it out!

The following is a picture of the letters in her name...in no specific order. Can you guess it?

Belly Update 1

Ok, now that the painting is done, we can start doing the belly pictures in the babies room. These were taken today, at roughly 25 weeks and 3 days.
We will try to do them more regularly, probably not every week, but every couple of weeks from here on out.

The Babies Room

Anyone reading this, has probably already figured out, that projects in our house don't get done in one weekend. They take many weekends to complete. This weekend, I had a goal, to finish the painting in the Baby's Room.

I started Saturday morning with getting the tape on the wall for the stripe pattern. I drew up all sorts of patterns, and this is the one we landed on, a little more simple than I originally thought it would be, but it worked out pretty good, and I think we are both happy with it. Once the tape was on, it was time to start painting. And I am incredibly slow at painting.

But many hours later, the first coat of both colors was on the walls.

Today started much like Saturday did, with a paint brush in my hand. But, after a few more hours of painting, I had the second and final coat on the walls for both colors, and the blue tape could come down. We are happy with the results. I need to let it dry for a few days, then go back and touch up a few spots on the white. Then the painting portion of the project will be over, and I can start to work on the shelves and the closet.

What was THAT? Part Deux!

Last night I got to feel baby Girl Rhoads kick! not in my belly of course, that's impossible. As we sat on the couch watching TV, Baby Girl was moving around a lot, and I could feel it on the outside of Andrea's belly. That was my first physical connection with her, and it was really cool, and kinda special to me.

What was THAT?

Andrea finally for the first time today, felt baby Girl Rhoads kicking around inside her belly. She could feel her moving around, from one side to the other, and even saw a little movement in her skin where Baby Girl was stretching out.

In news on the room, the white is done...finally. One coat of primer, three coats of white. We also picked out the two accent colors, and I got part of one section painted before running out of the sample we had.

That's about all for today. Andrea is napping on the couch, accompanied by the dog. I am about to get to work.

Progress...

Progress on the babies room is slow. I don't get time to work on it during the week, and when the weekend gets here, it seems a 100 other things are begging to get done. I did get another coat of white on the trim, and the walls that will be white. I thought I was done. Then Andrea walked in and declared...the walls need another coat of white...and of course she was right. I had hoped to start on color tomorrow, I won't be so lucky. I am getting tired of seeing white.

For right now, I need to get to work on my day job. We just went from kinda busy...to really busy, one of our biggest projects is about to land on my desk, I am about to be swamped, and I don't mind admitting, a little worried, it is a lot of pressure, and a lot to handle, the next 3 1/2 months are going to be just a tad busy.

Week 24

Today starts week 24...and what better way than to have another doctor's appointment. We should be leaving the house soon. Mom is really starting to show now, for anyone that has not seen her in a while, now there is no doubt that she is pregnant.

Tonight I plan to put what I hope will be the last coat of white on the trim and white portions of the walls in the babies room. I got the first coat done last weekend, and even put up the test colors that we bought. We like one of the two colors in the scheme, but I am not sold on the second color.

Ok, well, off to the doctors office.
