I'm leavin', on a jet plane!

Anniston got to take her first ride on a jet airplane a little earlier than we had planned.  At the end of March we went to Kansas for my Grandfathers funeral.  Anniston did really good on the airplane ride to Kansas.  She got to sit right behind Uncle Trent and Aunt Sarah, and she played with them the whole time.

After all that playtime, she was worn out.  She decided that the last 45 minutes of the flight woudl be best spent getting some shuteye.

After Anniston woke up, the nice flight attendant decided that she had been so good on her first flight, that she had earned her wings.  Grandpa, being the joker that he is, asked if he got wings for being good too...so he got a pair of wings too.

9 1/2 Months

At the 9 1/2 month point in her life...Anniston started to take her first steps.  She has been standing un-assisted since New Years, but it took her a while to figure out the walking.  She started off with 2-4 steps, usually when bribed with her favorite toys.  I don't really have any pictures of this, but we did get some of her first steps on video.  If I can figure out how to make that viewable here, I will link to it.

At this time, Anniston is also really enjoying more grown up foods.  She likes cantaloupe, watermelon, brocolli, chicken, sausage, hamburger, and of course grilled cheese and mac & cheese...the last two being some of her favorites...she will eat those until she is stuffed.

She is also very independent...she wants to feed herself.  She is a big girl now, and doesn't need help from mom and dad.

Playing on the Stairs

DISCLAIMER: What you are about to see what done in a closely monitored environment, at no point was Anniston in danger of injury, and she was no harmed in the making of these photographs...but she sure did have a lot of fun.

Ok, got that out of the way...Anniston is fearless.  She is a daredevil, and she will be the one that one day goes sky diving with her dad, and rides all of the scariest roller coasters.  She loves to go up the stairs.  She has for  along time.  And she has gotten very good at it.  Many nights, we follow her up the stairs, close behind to make sure she does not fall.  Most of the time, she makes it all the way to the top, with no trouble at all.

Here she is at the beginning of her ascent...see mommies hands right behind her...just in case!
She is very determined the whole way up, she keeps her head down, and just motors all the way up!
And when she gets to the op, her victory face looks like one for someone who just made it to the Summit of Mount Everest...she is always so proud of herself.

9 Months Old

On March 8, Anniston Paige was 9 months old.  She weighed in at 20 pounds 4.5 ounces, and was 28 inches long.  She is going to be tall.  Time to start saving money for those designer jeans in the long size...I am told they are much more expensive.

At 9 months old, Anniston is standing all over the house, crawling faster than the two grandmas can keep up with, and playing with all of her favorite toys.  She is not really saying anything yet, mostly just babble, but when she gets into a chatty mood, she is hard to stop.

Here she is at 9 Months.
Anniston really enjoys her books.  She especially likes the ones with things in them that she can touch, she likes the different textures.  She knows which ones are her favorite, and she will find them in the book.  She also went through a period for about two weeks around this time, that she liked to stick her tongue out...all the time.  It was really hard to take her picture, and not have her tongue out.

My how time flies!

To those that read this, I am sorry that I have not updated the ATMT blog in almost 2 months.  It is busy around our house, and I need to make more of an effort to keep this updated.  I am going to try to briefly update tonight, and see how far I get.
